For most of my clients, I share a model early on that has been very effective for me to build my mental capacity to manage emotions. This is an important foundation.

Sometimes you need to get MESSy

M - Mindfulness practice. This can be any reflective practice - mediation, long walk in nature, gardening etc. It is up to you, but important thing is to slow down your thinking.

E - Some for of regulate exercise.

S- Sleep hygiene. Getting consistent, regular sufficient sleep

S - Stress reduction. Looking at the minor irritants in your life don’t need to be there and remaking them. Taking a slightly longer commute to work that is less stressful.

This model allows you to be in an emotional and mental state of mind that allows you to become a better leader and person.
